Waterlooville school alumni sought to help pupils

Have your say

EX-SENIOR school pupils are being urged to get in touch with their old school to act as mentors to current students.

Under the Future First scheme, former Oaklands Catholic School students are being asked to help youngsters facing similar challenges and opportunities to when they were at school.

The school, in Stakes Hill Road, Waterlooville, is one of nearly 400 state schools and colleges registered with the charity Future First to set up networks of former students or alumni.

The idea is that engaged alumni help schools do more for their students. It does not matter when you left school, whether you are in further education or employment or whether you still live nearby or have moved further away.
