MORE than 150 youngsters descended on a golf club to try their hands at the sport.
The children, pupils from schools across Fareham borough, took part in the Tri Golf Festival at Cams Hall Golf Club, so they could experience the game themselves for the first time. Using oversized clubs and balls, the children took part in various golf-based games and activities on the club’s practice area.
Club general manager Matthew Rollinson said: ‘The idea with Tri Golf is to get kids from five years and up into the game.
‘One of our members Sue Gardiner runs the Fareham schools sports partnership and she set it all up.
‘We’ve never done anything this big before, but the kids absolutely loved it. I’ve been told that a lot of them haven’t stopped talking about it since.’
