Firefighters will give people in Portsmouth a behind-the-scenes look at how their local station is run.

Southsea fire station is hosting an open day, packed with activities for all the family.

The event is at the station in Somers Road on Saturday, September 5 from 10am.

Families will be treated to simulated rescues and members of other emergency services will be there to give advice.

Children will have the opportunity to dunk a fireman, with all the money raised from the event being donated back to the station.
