A CAR was completely destroyed in a blaze that is believed to have started in the engine.

Firefighters said the driver of a Vauxhall car had stopped in Cliff Road, Hill Head, and got out to look at some wildlife.

But when he turned around his car was well alight and was totally destroyed.

A crew from Fareham was called at 7.30pm last night and used water and foam to put out the blaze.

The crew was there until 8.15pm.
