SWIMMERS were evacuated from the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth after a fire alarm was set off.

It happened on Saturday at around 10am. A crew from Cosham fire station went to the centre in Alexandra Park, Portsmouth.

Firefighters believe the break-glass alarm was activated by mistake.

Staff at the centre said people were outside for around 15 to 20 minutes.

The centre carried on as usual after the alarm.
