SAILORS will march through a town centre to mark 50 years of its twinning with Vannes, in France.
The march in Fareham will also mark HMS Collingwood’s Freedom of the Borough when it takes place next week.
Around 150 sailors will march through the high street accompanied by the Royal Marines Band. It will begin from the civic offices at 10.45am.
Mayor of Fareham councillor Connie Hockley said: ‘I’m delighted to welcome our Vannes visitors to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the twinning of our two towns.’
There will be some road closures on the day from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
They are the High Street, Quay Street, West Street and Civic Way. The march is on Monday.
