AN ART exhibition day is to be set up inside the Square Tower, Old Portsmouth.

Every fourth Sunday, the historic building will host an arts and crafts day, offering high quality art for sale.

There will also be design products available from a carefully selected group of artists.

And some members of the group will exhibit their work at each event.

To kick-start the first event of its kind, on October 23, jewellers Katherine Webber and Sharon Justice will showcase some of their pieces.

Katherine creates modern designs with freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones and sterling silver and Sharon is a silversmith whose jewellery is in pure silver and gold.

The work of Tracy Evans, who specialises in hand-woven clothing, will also be on display.

As will Diana Wren’s range of ceramic sculpture and Rose Bates’ crystalline ware and organic garden ornaments.

Visitors can enjoy a range of local photographs, glassworks, prints, paintings and much more. Admission is free. See craftsinthetower.com
