VISITORS of the newly-opened Mary Rose Museum will have longer to look around the attraction.

This summer, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard has announced extended opening times.

To meet demand, the dockyard will be welcoming visitors from 9.15am to purchase tickets, with the first time-slot for the Mary Rose at 9.45am.

Last entry to the Mary Rose Museum will be at 5pm, before closing at 6pm.

The museum welcomed 52,000 visitors in its first month of opening.

The site opened last month, and saw thousands visit in the first week.

It contains artefacts from King Henry VIII’s sunken Mary Rose ship.

All other attractions including HMS Warrior, Action Stations, HMS Victory, The National Museum of the Royal Navy and Harbour Tours will open from 10am to 5pm.
