FAMILIES will get the chance to get up close to the biggest hovercraft in the world.

The Hovercraft Museum, in Lee-on-the-Solent, is offering discounted tickets to families tomorrow to show support for the threatened SRN4s.

The 250-ton vessels are under threat of being scrapped and the museum wants to show how important they are to visitors.

As previously reported by The News, a petition has been set up in a bid to save the hovercraft. Visitors will be encouraged to sign the petition, which now has more than 20,000 signatures.

The family ticket for tomorrow will be £20 and the museum is open from midday until 4pm.
