Family fun day to raise funds for brave Portchester boy's surgery

A CHARITY family fun day to raise funds for an 11-year-old boy with severe brain damage will take place next Sunday.

Tracy Gordon, from Portchester, is holding the event at The Seagull pub in Portchester to raise money for her son, Ollie, who also uses a wheelchair and cannot speak, ahead of surgery later this year.

Ollie has had a rough couple of years after needing to go on life support on two separate occasions recently.

Tracy said: ‘He’s doing okay but he’s had a rough couple of years.’

The funds from the day will also go to Portchester Football Academy which was set up late last year.

The academy, which is run by Tracy and her partner Tony Hewitt, gives training in the sport to 32 children.

Ollie’s family are also hoping to take him to Alton Towers to complete a dream for the youngster.

The event will have a bouncy castle, face painting, a children’s entertainer, barbecue and a raffle.

It will run from midday to 5pm.
