A CONSERVATION charity has joined forces with a cruise company to encourage people to take an interest in the Solent.

AK Wildlife Cruises has become a wildlife investor of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.

The scheme encourages local businesses to support the conservation work of the trust.

AK Wildlife Cruises offer a variety of wildlife, natural history and educational sightseeing tours throughout the year, and the company will work with the trust to raise public awareness about the marine life found in the waters of the Solent and Isle of Wight.

Captain Keith Leeves has 30 years’ experience in the field of wildlife and marine conservation.

He says: ‘We will work closely with people who also share our passion and love for conservation in and around sensitive areas of the Solent and the Isle of Wight.

‘During our wildlife trips, we will be gathering data and sightings of marine and bird life.’
