AN ELDERLY couple died after they lost control of their car, an inquest heard.

Barry and Shirley Janes, from Fareham, died in February this year after their car crashed into a tree and then rolled across the A34, near Winchester.

The inquest heard that the car veered to the right before a sudden movement to the left resulted in the car hitting a tree on the verge of the inside lane.

Shirley, 69, died from multiple injuries on scene while Barry, 70, died of fractures to his T3 and chest injuries.

It unknown what caused the car to veer.

Assistant coroner Sarah Whitby said: ‘Barry and Shirley died from an accident.’
