Bechtel Inc singled out Porvair’s work on developing a first-of-its-kind radial flow filter.

Since 2013, Porvair’s engineering team has worked to develop a high-strength HEPA radial filter element for use in the United States Department of Energy’s Hanford Waste Treatment Plant.

During the development process, the team introduced several new technologies, one of which is now under patent review.

President of Porvair, Kevin Nelson, said: ‘We always work to exceed expectations and deliver continuous improvement across all of our operations, and the Large Business Subcontractor award is a fantastic testament to our diligent, hard-working staff as we look to further strengthen our relationship with Bechtel in 2017.

‘We had many outstanding individuals involved on this, helping to deliver strong results while fostering an enduring relationship with Bechtel.

‘It says much for Porvair that we are working so closely with one of the most respected global engineering, construction and project management companies.

‘From the inception of the relationship, Porvair has looked to match Bechtel’s relentless drive for the delivery of landmark projects that create long-term progress.’
