Fareham friends face the chop for cancer charities

DETERMINED schoolgirl Niamh Roseveare will donate more than seven inches of her hair to help other children with cancer.

The eight-year old hopes to raise more than £1,000 for the Piam Brown Unit at Southampton General, as well as donating her locks to the Little Princess Trust to be made into wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment.

Niamh’s family friend Andrea Marshall, from Stubbington, is also going to face the chop today.

They were inspired to fundraise when a friend’s son Seth, who is at school with Niamh, was diagnosed with cancer.

Niamh’s mum Hayley said: ‘We’re so proud of her wanting to help other children who are suffering.’

Niamh, also from Stubbington, said: ‘I just want to help Seth and give money to the hospital.’

They hope their courage and kindness will inspire others to fundraise.
