CURVES gym in Fareham will spend October fundraising for Breast Cancer Care.

Staff will pledge their support for the 50,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer every year.

The women’s-only fitness centre will waive the joining fee for new members until Sunday, October 16 in return for a donation to Breast Cancer Care or another breast cancer charity.

As part of its fundraising efforts, Curves will collect old and unwanted bras from both Curves members and local residents for the club’s bra recycling bank, with £1 donated to Breast Cancer Care for each kilo of bras donated.

Manager of Curves Yvonne Kelly said: ‘Fundraising for breast cancer charities is something which unites the Curves community globally, and we’re delighted to be able to support Breast Cancer Care. It is a cause close to the hearts of our members and staff, many of whom have been personally affected by the disease, so we are always keen to do our bit to help.’
