THE spirit of Christmas past will visit Fareham this weekend for a weekend of festive fun — and some spooky surprises.

A torchlight tour will be taking place at Westbury Manor Museum, on West Street, tonight at 5.30pm.

Families are invited to visit and search for some of the building’s ghosts.

Curator Tom de Wit said: ‘This is not for the faint-hearted. It will be fun for all the family and suitable for all ages from four and over.

‘You may even meet Thomas Forbes Kelsall, who lived at Westbury Manor 150 years ago. The museum will be dark, so don’t forget to bring a torch.’

The tour costs £1 per person. Then, tomorrow, the fun continues with the Victorian Christmas Festival.

There will be carol singers, Punch and Judy shows, costumed characters and a time-travelling photographic studio.

The festival runs from 10am until 3pm. Entrance to the museum is free. For more details call 01329 822063 or 07590 304946.
