PEOPLE are being encouraged to help make the longest single line of bunting in a bid to win a national competition.

Play rangers from Fareham Borough Council are looking for children and young people to help make the bunting in preparation for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee next month.

People are being encouraged to help design the bunting and the council is also running a competition to find the best decorated design.

And those locals will be able to see their artwork and creations on display at the forthcoming ‘Have a Field Day’ community Jubilee events, where the bunting will be used as decoration.

Throughout May the Fareham Play Rangers are encouraging children and young people to visit them at the free open-access play sessions to help create the bunting.

For more information about the competition or for a copy of the Fareham Play Rangers timetable see fareham.gov.uk/fareham2012 or call 01329 236100.
