Fareham takeaway raises hundreds ahead of charity event

Abu-Suyeb Tanzam is putting on the annual fundraising night at his takeaway Gandhi in Anjou Crescent, Fareham.

But ahead of the event on April 18, dedicated Mr Tanzam revealed generous customers have raised £700 already.

Each year he donates all of his takings from one night to charity. This year the cash will be split between the mayor of Fareham Cllr Mike Ford’s chosen charities – the Dave Wellman Cancer Trust and the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service.

Cash will also go to Cancer Research UK.

Mr Tanzam said: ‘I give 100 per cent credit to our customers and friends and families for their tremendous support over the past many years and hope they will continue to do so for such a good cause.’
