Organiser of the Summer Festival, Marian Smith, said: ‘We’re really excited to be launching this new festival.

‘Entry to the Historic Dockyard’s Main Road and HMS Warrior 1860’s jetty is completely free. There will be something for everyone - families, and wooden boat enthusiasts.

‘We want to give visitors of all ages a flavour of what goes on at Boathouse 4, where students learn the unique craft of traditional boatbuilding. ‘

The festival runs 10am to 5pm on August 5, 6 and 7.

Entry is free over the three days.
