Fifty years on and former Portsmouth pupils want to do it all again

It's 50 or so years since Sandra Langford (née Hallett) was a pupil at St Luke's Church of England Girls' School in Frederick Street, Portsmouth.

She started there in 1964 and three years later the girls’ school amalgamated with the boys’ building.

Half a century on and Sandra is hoping to organise a reunion – if she can track down enough old classmates.

Through Facebook she has managed to find Vicky White (now Henderson); Helen Jones (now Noble); Linda Goodall (now Jepson), and Mandy Smith.

Sandra says: ‘We would like to arrange a reunion for girls and boys who were at St Luke’s between 1964-1969. I haven’t a date for a reunion yet as we would like to see if we can find old friends first.’

There was a reunion in 1996, but Sandra says they have all lost touch again. Some of those who attended that get-together include: Heather Houghton, Lenise Cartwright, Thelma Adey, Christine Buckley, Wendy and Susan Paige, Pat Williams and Susan Caffrey.

All today’s pictures go back to their schooldays or that reunion 20 years ago.
