FAMILIES can find out more about Portsmouth thanks to a range of guided walks this spring.

Discover Dickens walks take place on April 28 and May 12 and 26 and meet at Victory Gate at 2.30pm before finishing at the city museum.

The tours give a taste of Victorian life and give walkers the chance to stroll around the area the great author once lived.

Henry VIII comes to the Square Tower on Sunday and gives people the chance to find out about the life of the king, who was on the throne more than 500 years ago.

The Read All About It! tour, on April 29, allows walkers to follow in the footsteps of some literary greats. It meets at the city museum at 2.30pm and tickets must be bought in advance.

A nautical tour on the history of Admiral Nelson will start at Portsmouth Grammar School on May 6. It guides people through his life and rise to fame before finishing at Spur Redoubt.
