VOLUNTEER opportunities will be showcased at an annual fair.

Portsmouth Together is hosting The Volunteers’ Fair where people can find out about all the varied volunteer roles in the city.

It will showcase a number of organisations with staff on hand to answer questions and give out information.

Agencies signed up to attend include The Rowans Hospice, The Carers Centre, Pompey in the Community, Time to Say No and The Salvation Army.

The event, on June 2, marks the start of Volunteers Week.

Brian Bracher, head of volunteering and social action at Portsmouth City Council, said: ‘This is an exciting time for volunteering in Portsmouth.

‘There are opportunities in fundraising, art and culture, education, health and wellbeing, community and many more.

‘Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community and to gain new skills.

The free fair is at Cascades Shopping Centre, between 10am and 4pm. Visit
