FIREFIGHTERS were at Portsmouth Naval Base for over two hours after a fire alarm was triggered.

Two crews from Southsea were called to the base at 5.30am yesterday but it was unclear why the alarm went off. After investigation, firefighters discovered it was steam that triggered it.
