TRAINS in and out of Portsmouth were stopped after a fire.

A small grass fire on the bridge near Portsmouth Harbour station brought a halt to journeys.

One appliance from Southsea fire station tackled the small fire at around 5.30pm.

All lines were re-opened by 6.20pm, according to South West Trains.

The operator posted a message on Twitter, saying: ‘All lines have been reopened, however a further blockage may be required later.’
