FIRE crews were sent to Fareham and Gosport last night after a plug socket and some curtains caught alight.

Two fire engines from Fareham Fire Station and one from Portchester were dispatched to Redlands Lane after reports that curtains had caught fire in resident’s flat, at around 8.50pm.

The fire was already out when crews arrived, but there was some smoke damage to the property.

Later in the evening, at around 1am, one crew from each of the Fareham and Gosport stations were sent to a house in Clover Close, Bridgemary, following reports a plug socket had caught alight.

This fire was also out on arrival.
