FIREFIGHTERS put out a small ground-floor blaze at Wilmcote House, Somers Town, this afternoon.

Two crews from Southsea fire station, two from Cosham fire station, and one from Havant fire station attended the incident in Tyseley Road at 1.15pm.

Upon arrival they found a small fire in the roof void of a ground floor external corridor.

Fire fighters used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.

A spokesman for the fire service said the blaze had the potential to spread but was quickly identified by a member of the public.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are on-going.
