A FISHERMAN’S shack on the edge of Langstone Harbour has been destroyed by fire.

Firefighters were called at about 6.10pm yesterday to the old wooden structure down a lane behind Budds Farm, near Havant.

They were forced to use a Land Rover to reach the blaze because the road was too narrow for their fire engines.

The small hut was completed destroyed by the fire and was described by a spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue as ‘the last fishing hut left standing’ on the shore of the harbour before it burned down.
