‘Casa Brasil have a very stringent regime of cleaning their kitchen extract duct weekly and therefore it is believed that poor maintenance of this is unlikely to have been the cause.’

Casa Brasil has also praised the prompt attendance of professionalism of firefighters from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, adding crews’ hard work saved much of the building from damage.

Mr Sharp added: ‘The restaurants immediately below Casa Brasil, Watermark and Relentless HQ, suffered some water damage but were able to open by midday on Sunday for a full lunchtime service,

‘Casa Brasil is hoping to open later this week once the emergency repairs have been made.’
