FIREFIGHTERS were called to a small house fire in Southsea last night.

The fire, in Salisbury Road, which happened at around 4.15am, was out on arrival but smoke had to be cleared.

Two fire crews were sent from Southsea fire station and an extractor fan was used to clear the smoke.

The elderly resident was unhurt.
