Fire safety community fun day at Bognor

FIREFIGHTERS are hoping to teach residents about fire safety at a community fun day.

The family event, organised by the Bognor Community Action Network, takes place between 10am and 4pm on Hampshire Avenue Recreation Ground in the Pevensey area of Bognor.

It is organised by the town’s firefighters.

It is an opportunity for the public to chat to local fire crews and pick up simple and practical tips on staying safe at home.

Firefighters will also be raising awareness about the service’s home safety visits and the availability of specialist fire detection and protection equipment for those who may have difficulty responding to a standard smoke alarm.

Bognor fire station watch manager Russ Moore said: ‘Taking part in a day like this is an important part of our campaign to reduce the number of accidental fires that occur in the home.’
