FIREFIGHTERS were called out this morning to tackle a coach blaze.

Two crews – one from Cosham and one from Portchester – were called to Southwick Road, near to Portsdown Hill Road, at 8.58am.

A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: ‘The call came in at 8.58am today that a private coach was alight.

‘There are no suggestions as to what caused the fire, which was out by 9.18am.

‘There has been minor diesel spillage and we have arranged for the Highways Agency to clear that up.

‘We called Hampshire Constabulary to assist with traffic management.’

There are no reported injuries and South Central Ambulance Service said it has not been called to the incident.
