PENSIONERS were treated to a slapstick-style variety show held by the fire service.

Southsea fire station hosted its annual senior citizens’ party at The Pyramids Centre, in Clarence Esplanade, Southsea.

The show was held for 250 pensioners living in the Portsmouth area in sheltered accommodation.

They were entertained by firefighters dressing up, singing and dancing.

Refreshments were also provided part-way through the show.

Wynn Stevenson, 80, of Cressy Road, Buckland, went to see the show for the first time this year.

She said: ‘It’s a great show and the firemen work so hard to entertain us. I do hope to come again next year.’

South Coast Ambulance Service, First Bus and E-Zec Ambulance Transport provided lifts to and from the show.
