A DRIVE to reduce costs in the face of government cuts could result in two fire services becoming one.
West and East Sussex fire authorities are looking into how they can save money without making cuts to fire stations and other frontline services.
This may lead to the two groups sharing management positions or even combining completely to create one county-wide force for Sussex.
A decision on the way forward will be taken by the East Sussex Fire Authority and the West Sussex County Council in March this year.
