Fire at South Parade Pier

WORKERS raised the alarm after South Parade Pier's roof caught alight.

Firefighters from Southsea were called out at around 2.30pm after the felt on the roof set a light.

Workers were doing ‘hot work’ at the pier in Southsea, Portsmouth, but managed to put it out before crews from Southsea fire station arrived. The crews stayed to make sure it was out.

A crew from Cosham were sent but were stood down before they arrived.
