FIRE crews were called to a secure accommodation unit for patients with mental health issues after a fire started in one of the rooms.

Three crews - two from Havant and one from Cosham - were called to Elmleigh, in New Lane, Havant last night at 9.15pm.

Upon arrival they put out a small fire which had started in one of the rooms. Nobody was hurt in the incident and the fire was put out by 9.30pm.

This latest incident follows a fire in one of the rooms which happened in April, which prompted an investigation in to the cause.

Fire crews from Gosport were also called out last night at 4.45pm to a small grass fire on Browndown.
