FOURTEEN firefighters from two stations stopped a home from going up in flames.

A small blaze began in the roof of the large detached house in Firs Avenue, Waterlooville.

It happened at 5.30am on Saturday and the family quickly left the property.

Crews from Cosham and retained firefighters from Waterlooville quickly got the fire under control and stopped it from spreading.
