FAREHAM fire station will open its doors this summer for a jam-packed day of fun and fire safety.

The event takes place on Saturday, September 7, and gives people a chance to visit their fire station to gain an insight into the various activities firefighters undertake.

It runs from 10am to 4pm, and includes entertainment for children as well as fire and rescue demonstrations.

Watch manager Ian Cambridge said: ‘Refreshments and snacks will be on sale for visitors, and merchandise, with all money going to charity.

‘There will be short displays throughout the day, by the station crews, and a variety of stalls, together with plenty of activities on site to keep younger visitors entertained.

‘Firefighters will also be showcasing the equipment used to help keep people safe.’
