EIGHT firefighters were called when a shed caught fire.

Gosport fire station sent two crews to Vernon Close, in Gosport, when calls about the blaze came in yesterday afternoon.

After assessing the fire, the crew used one jet to put it out.

Two firefighters also wore breathing apparatus as they tackled the flames.

The call came in shortly before 5.20pm.

The fire was put out by 5.50pm and crews then checked the site for safety.

Most of the shed was damaged by the fire.

The cause was not known.
