Officers from Gosport Fire Station were called to Clifton Road, in Lee-on-the-Solent, around 2.35am this morning to assist South Central Ambulance Service.

A 77-year-old man had fallen over in his home.

Firefighters broke through a window of the house before letting paramedics in through the front door.

A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said: ‘The man was on the floor in his lounge in pain, but he was able to wiggle his toes and describe his symptoms.’

Fire officers left the scene around 3.15am.
