Youngsters at Portsmouth's Queen Alexandra Hospital were treated to a Christmas party laid on by Cosham firefighters.
Entertainment came in the shape of the Amazing Mr Tall, who told jokes and performed magic tricks.
The fire service's Blaze Bear also put in an appearance, Santa handed presents to the 40 youngsters, and a face painter added to the excitement.
The children were able to look around the fire engines from Cosham, and taught how to keep their families safe from fire at Christmas.
The day was funded by a charity rowing event at Cascades Shopping Centre, which raised around 2,000, as well as donations from businesses and the public.
The planning has begun already for next year's party, which will again be held at QA.
