FIREFIGHTERS raised hundreds of pounds for charity when they visited a shopping precinct with an investigation dog.

The crew from Portchester fire station spent the day in Portchester precinct collecting for The Firefighters Charity.

They were assisted by Milly – an arson investigation dog and her handler Andy Earl.

Firefighter Steve Turp said: ‘It was a fantastic opportunity for the people of Portchester to meet firefighters from their local station and even though times are hard for many, they were extremely generous with £701 being donated.

‘Hot drinks and mince pies were also kindly donated by La Boulangerie.’
