TWO fire engines went to a leisure centre after a fire broke out in the kitchen.

Firefighters were called to David Lloyd Leisure, in The Boardwalk, Port Solent, at about 9.30am yesterday.

A frying pan had caught fire and staff tried to put out the blaze themselves before calling for help.

The crew, from Portchester and Cosham, used breathing equipment to put out the blaze with a fire blanket and a foam extinguisher.

They left at about 11am.
