Firefighters, armed with breathing apparatuses, used two high-pressure hose reels to quell the flames, as well as a fan to ventilate the building.

They also conducted a search of the abandoned property but found no-one else inside.

Police were on scene but took no action, crew manager Paul Grant said.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

Firefighters left the scene at 7.30pm.
