FIREFIGHTERS had to tackle two rubbish fires.

The crew from Southsea fire station was called to Eastern Parade by Southsea Rose Gardens at 2.20am where a pile of rubbish was on fire.

They were also called to a rubbish fire behind the Pyramids in Southsea at about 6.45am.

Both fires are believed to have been started deliberately.
