FIREFIGHTERS helped pull out a fishhook from a man’s finger.

The crew from Gosport fire station were called over the road to Gosport War Memorial Hospital in Bury Road.

Specialist kit used for car crashes was put to use to pull the three-barbed hook from the patient’s finger.

Nurses had been unsuccessful in removing the item.

It happened around 5.50pm on Friday night.

The crew used a hydraulic pedal cutter, normally used for when drivers get feet caught behind pedals in a crash.
