FIREFIGHTERS were called to several small blazes across the area over the Easter weekend.

In the early hours on Saturday, one appliance from Cosham was called to a fence blaze in Copnor.

The crew arrived at 4.50am in Vernon Road to find a fence bordering one of the houses there had caught fire.

It is not known what caused the fire but it is not thought to have been deliberate.

Firefighters left about half an hour later.

On Friday evening, firefighters from Fareham fire station were called to a skip fire outside a car sales garage in Newgate Lane, Fareham.

It is thought the fire in the skip, which contained carpets and cardboard, may have been started on purpose.

And firefighters from Havant were called to a car fire in Park House Farm Way, Leigh Park on Saturday night at about 11.30pm.

Police are investigating the cause.
