BUSINESS is thriving for an engineering and manufacturing firm based in Havant – so much that it is to move to a new factory in Horndean to cope with the demand.

Manufacturing company Formaplex’s relocation to the larger facility will increase production space by 30 per cent and create 40 new jobs within the company.

The additional staff will be employed in the office, manufacturing and in the design team to boost its capacity in pattern and tooling design.

In addition, the business has invested in two production machines costing a total of £750,000.

The announcement is the latest in a series of developments at the company over the past 12 months including investing £1,750,000 in three other production machines.

Michael Last, the firm’s managing director, said: ‘Despite Formaplex’s size and rapid expansion, each area of our business has remained focused and dynamic, which has allowed us to cope with the ever changing requirements of modern manufacture and the challenges that this brings.’
