TIME is marching on and the entry deadline is nearing for those who want to take part in the next Business Excellence Awards.
–The News’ Business Excellence Awards are due to return in February to Portsmouth Guildhall, where accolades will be handed out across 16 categories at a prestigious black-tie event.
Businesses can enter up to three of the categories, ranging from Start-Up of the Year to Lifetime Achievement. The deadline for entries is Fridayand all submissions will be judged by an esteemed panel of experts, including representatives from category sponsor Hampshire Chamber of Commerce.
Hampshire Chamber’s executive chairman Ross McNally said: ‘We’re delighted to both sponsor and share in the judging.
‘Like The News, we recognise how essential it is to champion the success of our region’s business community.
‘It can be easy to overlook the massive contribution that smaller businesses in particular make to our local and national economy.
‘You often hear of the successes of the largest, most high-profile companies – but small and medium-sized businesses are the backbone of our growth and prosperity and deserve to be honoured.
‘People talk about confidence being everything in business. Winning an award can provide exactly that added confidence at what remains a challenging economic period for many.
‘We’re really looking forward to seeing how businesses in our region are putting ideas into action.
‘I encourage as many businesses as possible to enter the awards. They are a fabulous way to recognise success.’
Hampshire Chamber of Commerce is the independent voice of local business across the county. It works with more than 2,000 individual firms spanning all sectors and sizes.
