FORMER Pompey star Linvoy Primus will help to attract more people to sign up as foster carers in Portsmouth.

The former defender will open a drop-in event at Pompey’s Chimes Lounge at Fratton Park, where potential carers can learn more about what’s involved.

The meeting, also supported by Linvoy’s Faith and Football group, will start at 6pm on Wednesday, March 23, and will last two hours.

It will offer potential carers a chance to find out more about fostering, including the chance to speak to foster carers about their experiences and ask questions. Portsmouth City Council hopes anyone with a spare room and the commitment to care for a child or young person will sign up to help youngsters from babies to teenagers.

Linvoy said: ‘I encourage people who wish to find out more about fostering and the possibilities for changing children’s lives to attend.’
