Four people injured in A3(M) crash involving armoured military vehicle

Two people suffered serious injuries in a crash involving an armoured military vehicle and two cars.

Another two people suffered minor injuries in the crash last night on the A3(M) at Horndean.

Two men in their 30s from Southsea, a woman in her 40s from Southampton and a man in his 20s from Leicester were all injured. Police could not say who was seriously injured.

The crash at around 8pm involved an Audi A8, Vauxhall Zafira and an armoured military vehicle. The southbound carriageway was shut.

Police said they closed one lane on the northbound side.

All work was completed at 3.41am this morning.

Highways England said one of the vehicles had hit the crash barrier.

Firefighters from Cosham, Waterlooville, and Eastleigh all attended.

An Army spokesman said: '˜We are aware of the road traffic incident on the A3 in Hampshire which happened yesterday in which a military armoured vehicle was involved.'
